Master Enrique Daniel Welcher

Master Enrique Welcher was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He attended Buenos Aires University from 1982 - 1988, where he studied law.

He began practicing the art of karate when he was 14 years old, and has been practicing karate, Shorin-Ryu style, for 36 years.  After serving as a karate instructor in Buenos Aires for several years, he moved to Israel.   There, from 1993 to 1995, Master Welcher attended the prestigious State Wingate Institute in Tel Aviv.
The Institute is Israel's National Center for Physical Education and Sport. Eventually, he achieved his goal of becoming certified as a karate instructor there.

Master Welcher has trained and developed many students at various levels; many of them have become champions.

Krav Hagana

Master Welcher developed a unique blend of self defense techniques during his tenure as Senior Self-Defense Instructor of the School of Israeli Marine Cadets, which he calls Krav Hagana. He perfected the method working at the school of Israeli Police Cadets.

Krav Hagana can be translated, “combat of defense”. It utilizes simple, memorable techniques to transform students’ perception when facing an adversary. The system distills the essence of defensive moves from many martial arts programs, in a form that can be easily absorbed and used by anyone.

One of the most outstanding accomplishments of Master Welcher was his development of special education programs utilizing martial arts to improve communication skills, coordination and motor skills for children with disabilities.  Children and young adults, who are profoundly deaf or have hearing impairments, are blind, motor skill challenged, have Down syndrome, autism, or epilepsy, have learned these techniques, and benefited. The children learn to defend themselves in challenging situations, and find their overall coordination is improved in every area of life.
